June, 2008 when Mrs. Herminia Madrid, (ALS District Coordinator) introduced me the program of DepEd called ALS. According to her it is free, and the schedule of classes is twice a week. I said “why not”. So I enrolled the program. My teacher is Ma’am Dyren Cruz. She teaches us different lessons. It was hard for me to catch up the lesson because it’s been 15 years ago when I stopped studying. I try my best to learn what she taught for us. Anyway, it serves a big help when we take the A&E Test.

God is always good. Few months after the test, I received a text message came from our teacher that I passed the test. I feel so blessed that time.

After I got married, I planned to enroll in college and take Education. It is a bring dream for me to teach children. My husband supported me financially. I was lucky enough to have partner that support me all the way to achieve my dreams.

I enrolled in Bataan Peninsula State University, BSIEd- Major in Araling Panlipunan. Another journey of my life is on my way that time. Four years of hardship. Thanks to God, I finished it, I conquer it. I received my college diploma last April 2, 2014.

After graduation, I prepare myself for the board exam. I took the said exam but I failed. I never surrender; I told myself there are more exams to come. I decided to take short courses from TESDA. I received National Certificates 2 in different skills. (Bread and Pastry Production, House Keeping, Dress Making and Cookery) It is part of my preparation to enter teaching profession in the K to 12 Curriculum.

Last May 2, 2016, I received good news. I passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). It is the beginning for the fulfillment of my dream – to become a full pledge teacher.

Every good things happened to me, especially my career, my education, ALS play a very important share in my life. Without this program, may be at this point I’m still the “Nona before with less knowledge, dreaming of everything missing in my life and that is EDUCATION”.

Glory to God, to DepEd for having that kind of program; aim to help Out – of- School. ALS implementer here in Balanga, especially to Ma’am Dyren, thank you for the opportunity, time, knowledge that you share on us. You give us light to path our lives. Again, thank you.

For now, I’m waiting for call of DepEd Balanga if they could hire me as one of their teacher teaching Senior HighSchool.

This is it!
