One of the tracks for senior high school in the K to 12 Program is Technical Vocational Education. Vocational Education and Training is used to prepare for a certain trade or craft. Ala-uli, Pilar, Bataan with the coordination of Technical Education And skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted a 268 hours Shielded Metal
Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II for all the passers and learners of Alternative Learning System in the Schools Division of Balanga City.
The participants completed Basic Competencies namely: participate in workplace communication, work in a team environment, practice career professionalism, practice occupational health and safety procedures. The Common Competencies are: apply safety practices, interpret drawings and sketches, perform industry calculations, contribute to quality system, use hand tools, prepare weld materials, setup welding equipment, fit up weld materials and repair welds and lastly, the Core Competencies which is to weld carbon steel plates and pipes using SMAW.
December 13, 2019 was the Orientation for Training for Work Scholarship Program Orientation sponsored by Skills Enhancement Academy and Training Center Inc. and TESDA which was conducted at Pto. Rivas Ibaba Covered Court, Balanga City, Bataan. The purpose of this training was to provide ALS learners and passers with the skills they can use to have a job that can help them and their families. The training ended last January 28, 2020 with 24 participants under the supervision of their trainer, Mr. Jeffrey Lingad.

These are the words proven by the passers and the learners of Alternative Learning System after a 268 days of SMAW training and successfully passing the assessment test and having their National Certificate II given by TESDA last January 30, 2020.
